Event Postponed. Future Date TBA
Why was Donald Trump able to easily win the 2016 Republican nomination over more traditional, established conservative candidates? Is Bernie Sanders about to shake up the Democratic Party the way Trump did the GOP? What has led to such disruptive candidates in American presidential politics? Do political parties still shape the nominee or does the nominee shape the party? And what does the success of political disruptors like Trump and Sanders mean for the 2020 presidential election, and beyond?
Please join the Institute for Policy Innovation (IPI) on April 15 for our next Sumners Distinguished Lecture Series luncheon as the Wall Street Journal’s Kimberley Strassel discusses “The Rise of the Disruptor in American Politics.”
Kimberley Strassel is a member of the editorial board of the Wall Street Journal, and writes its weekly Potomac Watch column. She was awarded the Bradley Prize in 2014, and is a frequent guest on cable news shows. She is the author of three books and a graduate of Princeton University.
General admission tickets are available, as well as sponsorships, Host Committe spots, and VIP tickets, which admit bearers to a VIP reception with Ms. Strassel prior to the luncheon. The Sumners Distinguished Lecture Series is underwritten by the Sumners Foundation.
