The Growing Threat to Free Speech with Kim Strassel

Multimedia

2021 Strassel Event

Free speech is under attack today at every turn. “Cancel Culture,” already toxic on college campuses, has migrated to journalism and other employers. Many are concerned about content moderation by major social media platforms. Even parents speaking up at school board meetings are being targeted by law enforcement. And, in violation of the First Amendment, governments are trying to compel speech by private actors such as Colorado baker Jack Phillips.

How great are these threats to free speech and to our culture of free inquiry, citizen participation in democracy, and freedom of conscience?

Please join IPI in Dallas on November 16 for “The Growing Threat to Free Speech” with Kim Strassel, the next in our Sumners Distinguished Lecture Series luncheons.

As an author, columnist and member of The Wall Street Journal editorial board, Kim Strassel is passionate about free speech and has been warning about threats to free speech in her books, columns and media appearances. You won’t want to miss meeting and hearing from Kim Strassel at this exciting and informative luncheon.

General attendee, student and VIP tickets are available, as well as table sponsorships. You can reserve your tickets online or by speaking with Addie Crimmins, director of development and events (addie@ipi.org). We hope you can join us!
