DALLAS – Institute for Policy Innovation (IPI) president Tom Giovanetti released the following statement:
“The Institute for Policy Innovation (IPI) condemns in the strongest terms the appalling attacks against FCC Chairman Ajit Pai and his family that have taken place since his announced policy of returning Internet regulation to the successful framework implemented by the Clinton administration in 1997.”
“Threats against the homes and children of federal officials implementing policy are far out-of-bounds and should be condemned by people of goodwill, regardless of political persuasion. In the past few days we’ve seen racist attacks on Chairman Pai on social media, and even worse, threats against his children. In this day when it’s clear politics has become far too important to some, these offenses should be investigated and prosecuted by the FBI as a deterrent to those who can’t separate rhetoric from reality and might be inclined to actually carry out such threats.”
The Institute for Policy Innovation (IPI) is an independent, nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy organization based in Dallas. Experts are available for interview by contacting Erin Humiston at (972) 874-5139, or erin@ipi.org.
