Tom Giovanetti, head of The Institute for Policy Innovation (IPI) will be participating in a debate on the controversial proposed ban on hydraulic fracturing in the city of Denton, Texas. The debate will be held tonight, Tuesday evening, September 2, as part of the regular monthly meeting of the Denton County Republican Assembly.
It is open to the public. It is being held in the Lake Dallas Community Room, Lake Dallas City Hall, 212 Main Street, Lake Dallas, TX 75065. Meet and Greet begins at 6:30 p.m. with the Program beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Institute for Policy Innovation is a non-profit, non-partisan public policy "think tank" based in Lewisville, Texas and founded in 1987 to research, develop and promote innovative and non-partisan solutions to today's public policy problems. IPI is a public foundation, supported wholly by contributions from individuals, businesses, and other non-profit foundations. In order to maintain its independence, IPI neither solicits nor accepts contributions from any government agency.
Tom will be joined representing the anti-ban position by Dr. Ed Ireland, Executive Director of the Barnett Shale Energy Education Council.
On the other side of the debate will be Adam Briggle, Associate Professor of Philosophy & Religion at UNT and Calvin Tillman, mayor of the tiny hamlet of Dish years ago, who has problems with errors and omissions when stating his anti-drilling position. It was at Tillman’s meeting that Al Armendariz made his infamous video that caused him to be fired as head of Region 6 of the EPA. Mineral owners in the City of Denton should attend this meeting before you lose your ability to turn your minerals into cash while protecting the water and air quality.
