DALLAS - NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine will visit Dallas on Friday, September 13, to highlight NASA’s mission to return to the Moon and enable human exploration of Mars in keynote remarks before the Institute for Policy Innovation’s Sumners Distinguished Lecture Series.
Bridenstine’s talk, “Reclaiming America’s Leadership in Space,” will give an inside look into NASA’s ambitions for the next era of space exploration—returning to manned spaceflight within months; how the Artemis program will land the first woman and the next man on the Moon by 2024; how the Moon will be a staging ground for venturing to Mars; integrating Space Force into America’s strategic defense; and how private space ventures like SpaceX and Blue Origin are playing a role in achieving NASA’s goals.
Following his address, Bridenstine will participate in a question-and-answer session with the audience, moderated by IPI president Tom Giovanetti and 660 AM-The Answer talk host Mark Davis.
“On the heels of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo Moon landing and as we are once again returning to the forefront of manned space exploration, this is the perfect time for Administrator Bridenstine to come to Dallas,” said Giovanetti. “With NASA becoming a customer of several private ventures to establish a continuing, competitive presence not only in orbit, but venturing outward to Mars, free-enterprise is now reaching out beyond the Earth’s surface.”
The lunch will take place at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas at noon. Interested media should contact Erin Humiston, erin@ipi.org.
