What's All The Talk About An Article V Convention? (Audio: Interview)

On the Jim Bohannon Show, IPI resident scholar Dr. Merrill Matthews discusses and answers questions regarding the growing support for an Article V Convention of the States to provide a check on the federal government. Matthews also dispels fears of a “runaway convention” and that such a body could not upend the U.S. Constitution.

“An Article V convention of the states is not a panacea for solving all of the country’s problems. It’s only one tool,” said Matthews. “But it could be an effective one in restoring the balance of power between the states and the federal government. And it could put the White House on notice that the states have a way of stopping administrative overreach and disregard for the normal legislative process.”
