Workfare and Job Training: Good Idea or Bad Idea? (Audio: Interview)

In an interview with KMED's Bill Meyer, IPI's Dr. Merrill Matthews discusses recent welfare reform proposals that would allow job-training programs as a substitute for work requirements. "The only effective job training is on-the-job training," said Matthews, who also gets into a philosophical discussion regarding whether government has any role to play in vocational training.
