There
is a terrific op/ed this morning in the Wall Street Journal on the Texas
Vioxx verdict by my friend Dr. Richard Epstein.
The piece is typically Epstein-great, containing as it does not only compelling
legal insight, but also passion for that which is right and just.
As a resident of Texas, I'd like to do my small part by apologizing to the rest of the world for this absurd verdict. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Texas Governor Rick Perry and the Texas legislature, for passing a couple of years ago the tort reform legislation that removes much of the foolishness of this jury's verdict.

By the way, the book referenced in Dr. Epstein's byline is a project that was initiated and commissioned by IPI, and we were very pleased to learn just last week that it will be published by Yale University Press.
